TheKershaw Leek 1660CKT is a popular everyday knife that features a 14C28N Swedish steel blade, a blade assist mechanism and the proven frame-lock.
Edc knife
TheKershaw Leek was created with everyday use in mind, which is clearly emphasized by its small size, lightweight construction and typically functional style.
The 76mm long blade is made of Swedish 14C28N stainless steel hardened between 58-60 HRC. Due to the high purity of the alloy, 14C28N steel is distinguished by its high hardness, corrosion resistance and, importantly for the user, long retention of working sharpness.
Theslim blade with an aggressive wharncliffe profile has been protected with a black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) protective coating, which in increases the hardness of the steel, protects against corrosion, wear and scratches.
Thanks to the use of a narrow hilt, concave grind and a cutting edge with an almost straight line, the knife has excellent cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding
The wedge can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a milled flipper or with a two-sided peg, allowing you to choose the method according to your preferences.
Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, and also allow comfortable operation of the knife with gloves. The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism.
When the flipper flipper is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Safe operation
A monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The main lock is supported by an additional Tip Safety Lock mechanism.
A slide lock located at the top of the knife prevents accidental opening of the blade in the folded position.
Convertible clip
Discreetly carrying the knife in a pocket is made possible by a high-set clip with mounting options on both sides of the handle. Next to the clip is a hole designed for attaching a decorative braided paracord, which are very popular among most knife owners.
Simple and stylish
The knife's handle is formed by 410 stainless steel facings, gently contoured to the hand. A DLC carbon coating is used to finish the grip, as with the blade, giving the knife a very stylish and elegant line.
