TheWalther TFW 1 is a large folding knife with an AUS-8 stainless steel head designed for everyday use, hiking and the wider outdoors.
A knife for every adventure
The 92 mm long blade is made of Japanese AUS 8 stainless steel. The properties of this steel are similar to 440C (including increased carbon content), so it can be hardened to 59 HRC. Resistance to wear and corrosion, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening make the AUS-8 steel blade wonderfully suited for everyday use. It is worth noting that a pocket ceramic sharpener is sufficient for sharpening AUS-8. The blade is finished with a stonewashed technique (bathing in fine abrasive stones), which eliminates glare and masks scratches from the use of the knife. The long blade, with a symmetrical spear-point profile, has a concave grind, a strong hilt and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, thanks to which the knife provides good cutting properties and high penetration.
Classic unfolding
The blade is unfolded in using two hands, with the help of a nail cutout. This classic solution has been used for decades in pocket knives, among others, and allows legal carry in most EU countries. Thanks to the use of a universal pin, we can easily adjust the smoothness of the blade's unfolding.
Locking blade
When unfolded, the blade is locked with the liner-lock mechanism. When the blade is unfolded, the role of the lock is played by a spring-loaded liner, which rests on the back of the blade, thus preventing it from folding. Liner-lock is prized for its simplicity, reliability and heavy-duty durability.
Stylish handle
The Walther TFW 1 has steel liners enriched with zebrano wood and polymer overlays, which bear the Walther logo. The knife is devoid of a clip, so you get an elegant leather belt case for everyday carry.
