Esbit - a German company in existence since 1936. From the very beginning, Esbit's main and flagship product was solid fuel, in the production of which the company became a world leader. The natural consequence was the expansion of the offer first to include stoves themselves, and later to include pots, meniscuses, dishes, thermoses and similar camping accessories. Today Esbit is recognized and valued mainly for the high quality and reliability of its products, and its position in the solid fuel manufacturer market is so high that it is often referred to as "Esbit fuel". The company's offerings are used by military units, emergency services, international organizations providing aid in third world countries, as well as "ordinary" hikers, climbers and outdoor enthusiasts.
TheESBIT Food Jug 0.5-liter lunch thermos is made of the highest quality stainless steel. For protection against accidental dropping of the thermos, which could happen when holding it in a frozen hand or glove, it was covered from the outside with a special black matte anti-slip coating. Also, the dimensions of the thermos have been chosen so that handling it does not pose any difficulties. Regardless of the capacity, it also has the same diameter - only the height differs.
As in virtually all thermoses, its double-layer construction is responsible for maintaining the temperature.
To maximize the properties offered by its food thermos, Esbit suggests "formatting" the thermos before use. If you plan to transport hot items - before placing them in the thermos, fill it with hot water for about 4 minutes, then pour out the water and place the food. An analogy should be made for cold things (fill the thermos with very cold water).
An undeniable advantage of the Food Jug thermos is also certainly the placement of a safety valve on the cap. After pressing it (before opening the thermos!) we can remove the excess pressure accumulated inside (which often happens after placing hot food inside). On the one hand, this makes it easier to open the thermos, and on the other, it eliminates to practically zero the risk of being burned by hot steam or accidentally "exploding" the cap during transport. The cap itself successfully serves as a bowl.
