Benchmade 375BK-1 Fixed Adamas is a lightweight tactical knife, designed by Shane Sibert, made of tough ultra-hard CPM-CruWear steel.
The Benchmade 375BK-1 Fixed Adamas was created with uniformed services in mind, for whom reliability and durability play a key role.
Rugged construction
The Benchmade375BK-1 Fixed Adamas has a full-tang (full bolt)construction, which means that it is made from a single piece of steel.
The head at its widest point is as much as 4.3 mm thick. The back section of the ridge has been raised and transverse frets made on it, allowing the finger to rest steadily while working.
The blade has a strong hilt and a flat grind, which guarantees smooth cutting and easy penetration. The knife is coated with a cobalt protective coating, which protects against corrosion, minor scratches and emphasizes the tactical nature of the knife. A beading has been applied to the blade, which increases its rigidity and reduces its weight.
Such parameters guarantee the functionality and durability of the knife and make it suitable for demanding tasks. Full-tang knives are famous for their durability and resistance to damage, which is why they are commonly used by soldiers, military, survival and bushcraft enthusiasts.
CPM-Cruwear - the latest super steel
Crucible Industries LLC's latest tool steel - CPM-Cruwear hardened to a hardness as high as 63-65 HRC - was used for the construction of the blade. With excellent wear resistance and strength, CPM-Cruwear can be described as a steel with twice the performance of the original D2 steel.
The new formula is enriched with vanadium, tungsten and molybdenum additives, which give the steel exceptional wear resistance and allow for high hardening.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
Handle
Theknife has a skeletonized construction, devoid of the typical linings, which allowed to effectively reduce weight and provides a flat profile. On the mandrel, which serves as the handle, transverse milling has been done in critical places, increasing the grip of the knife.
On the mandrel a braided black paracord was made, which increases the comfort of use and increases the grip of the knife to the hand.
Polymer sheath
To carry the knife, there is a polymer sheath with a retention adjustment system (the force to draw the knife) and an additional locking mechanism. The sheath is compatible with Malice low-profile clips, which allows the user to trounce the knife to the MOLLE system of equipment or wear it on the belt.
