TheKandar N160 is a large fixed-blade hunting knife, also designed for outdoor and survival beginners.
The Kandar N160 harks back to the legendary Bowie hunting knife, used by settlers and 19th century Wild West pioneers for fighting, hunting and camp work.
Bowie type blade
The Kandar N160 is a massive fixed ( fixed-head knife) of full tang construction. The knife uses a 165mm blade with a utilitarian clip-point profile. The blade of this shape has a clearly marked curvature of the cutting edge and a sharp hilt. Due to its good cutting properties and ease of penetration, the clip-point is widely used in working and military knives. The hard stainless steel blade retains sharpness well, is easy to sharpen and resists corrosion. The wide back allows efficient portioning of wood using the batoning technique.
Traditional handle
The knife has a contoured handle made of polymer and steel. The style of the handle is reminiscent of the classic bowie knife, where the grip was made of horn, wood and pressed leather discs, among other materials. The handle is reinforced by a steel head (at the tip) and a double-sided hilt that protects the hand from slipping on the blade.
Easy portability
The knife can be carried safely and conveniently on a belt in a Velcro-fastened nylon sheath.
