TheGarberg BlackBlade with Survival Kit stainless steel is currently the most rugged survival/outdoor knife in the Swedish manufacturer's lineup, which is highly regarded among soldiers, bushcraft and survival enthusiasts.
Scandinavian functionality
Garberg is a fixed with a full-tang construction, which means that the knife was created from a single piece of steel. Such a construction, combined with a 3.2 mm thick head, creates an uncompromising tool of great strength, thanks to which the Garberg, in addition to efficient cutting, can also be used for chopping wood, batoning and undermining. The working-length head (109 mm) has a usable drop-point profile and a traditional Scandinavian cut, with above-average cutting performance. Additional functionality of the knife is provided by the flat back of the blade, which facilitates lighting a fire with a flint.
Stainless steel
The blade is made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel, which, thanks to the admixture of nitrogen, has increased corrosion resistance and high hardness. The Swedish stainless holds sharpness well, and is also quite easy to sharpen, making it ideal for field use.
Non-slip grip
The contoured handle is made of polyamide that is resistant to mechanical damage and harsh weather conditions. The textured grip is handy and comfortable to use, and thanks to the widened base, the user's hand is also protected from slipping on the blade. The stylus protruding from the handle can act as an improvised hammer, glass breaker or magnesia scraper. A polymer sheath with a push-in locking mechanism is used to carry the knife safely on the belt.
Mini survival kit
The knife comes with a handy survival kit that has everything a true bushcraft enthusiast needs. Its compact form does not noticeably increase the weight of the knife, but it contains the accessories most useful in the field: a flint, a sharpener and a piece of rope.
The kit has a modular design, which consists of a polymer clamp that slides onto the sheath of the knife, a built-in diamond whetstone, a detachable flint and a rope. The survival kit can be easily attached to the sheath (push-on) and easily removed when needed. An ideal accessory for any hunter, hiker and bushcraft enthusiast.
