TheFenix LR80R is the brightest flashlight from Fenix, designed for exploration, rescue and other applications requiring powerful range and light output. The Fenix LR80R flashlight emits a light output of 18,000 lumens with a range of 1130 meters, which is as long as 11 soccer fields!
Construction
TheFenix LR80R is a professional long-range searchlight that combines impressive light performance, great functionality and reliability, making it ideal for search and rescue, exploration and industrial applications.
The 259mm-long body is made of A6061-T6 aircraft aluminum and protected by HAIII hard anodizing process, which creates a durable protective coating with high scratch and abrasion resistance.
The deep grooving of the head acts as a heat sink to dissipate excess heat, emitted by a set of 6 powerful LED emitters. The massive head is finished with a raised steel ring that allows the flashlight to be positioned vertically without risking damage to the optics. The milling of the body improves the flashlight's grip and grip and gives it a modern style. Thanks to the flat base, the flashlight can be placed vertically (the "candle" function) and efficiently illuminate the interior of the object or cave being explored. In the back there is a clip for attaching a lanyard or safety cable. The flashlight additionally has a metal grip (detachable), which makes it easier to operate the flashlight. The Fenix LR80R also includes a metal belt clip that, when unscrewed, reveals a threaded socket compatible with standard photographic tripod connectors.
Darkness will not hide
The impressive light performance was achieved, thanks to the use of as many as 6 Cree SST70 LEDs and smooth reflectors, which reflect light with a flux of as much as 18,000 lumens over a distance of as much as 1130 m. This distance corresponds to the length of 11 full-size football fields (FIFA regulations). The tempered glass with a transmittance of 98% has been coated with anti-reflective coating, thus reducing light loss to a minimum. The powerful 75° wide beam can be used in search and rescue operations, exploration and extreme tourism, and object monitoring.
Comfort of use
The flashlight is distinguished by a simple and convenient interface, divided into 2 groups of light modes: powerful and standard. To activate and change the intensity of the light, there are 2 steel buttons (separate for each group) with high responsiveness and increased resistance to mechanical damage. The location of the switches on the side of the flashlight (under the thumb) makes the use and change of light parameters very intuitive and convenient.
Group of strong light modes:
- Turbo 18,000 lumens,
- High 12,000 lumens,
- medium 6,000 lumens,
- low 3,000 lumens,
Standard light mode group:
- High 1000 lumens,
- medium 450 lumens,
- low 150 lumens,
- strobe 6000 lumens,
- SOS 150 lumens,
- eco 50 lumens.
Intelligent proximity sensor
The flashlight uses an intelligent proximity sensor that automatically detects when the head is too close to the ground, Once the flashlight exceeds a distance of 60 mm from the ground and illuminates it for 1.5 seconds, the flashlight automatically reduces the brightness level (to eco mode). When the flashlight head is moved away from the illuminated object for more than 0.8 seconds, the flashlight controller automatically returns to the previously used brightness level.
The Fenix LR80R also has a lock function to prevent the light from turning on uncontrolled during transport. To do this, press and hold the switches simultaneously for 3 seconds. Disabling the lock requires the same steps. A great convenience is the LED indicator that shows the state of charge of the battery, activated by a single click of any switch (flashlight off).
Indicator markings:
- 5 luminous LEDs: 100-80%
- 4 luminous LEDs: 80-60%
- 3 luminescent diodes: 60-40%
- 2 luminescent diodes: 40-20%
- 1 luminous diode: 20-0%
Power supply
The Fenix LR80R is powered by a powerful 12,000mAh 7.2V rechargeable battery pack, on which the flashlight can run for as long as 12 days in ecco mode (50 lumens) or 120 minutes in turbo mode (18,000 lumens).
With a 45W USB-C port and support for PD3.0 / PD2, QC3.0 and QC2.0 fast charging protocols, the battery can be charged in just 4 hours .The capacious battery and USB-C port allow the flashlight to act as a power bank, so we can charge our phone or PMR radio in a crisis situation. The sockets are protected from moisture, rain and dust with sealed rubber plugs.
Additional features:
For safety and proper operation, the Fenix LR80R has overheat protection, reverse polarity protection and a low battery warning. The flashlight has a high IP68 rating, which means it is completely resistant to dust and dirt, fine solids, full immersion in water (for 30 minutes at a depth of 2 meters) and a drop from 1 meter.
All light and durability parameters of the flashlight are in accordance with ANSI/PLATO FL1 standards.
The parameters shown were obtained under laboratory conditions. A 12,000 mAh 7.2V lithium-polymer battery pack was used during testing.
