The uppers of the boots are made of natural nubuck leather and protected with rubber inserts on the toe and heel, protecting the feet during hunting and trekking in difficult terrain. The boots have 7" (18 cm) high uppers, a padded ankle, a comfortable insole and reinforced soles with extra cushioning in the middle, which increases comfort and reduces foot fatigue during prolonged walking. A specialized Vibram sole with a non-slip protector makes it easier to move on slippery and uneven surfaces. The shoes also have a shock-absorbing midsole, which ensures long-distance walking comfort even on very uneven ground. Despite the sturdy leather upper and massive sole, the shoes are relatively lightweight, with one shoe weighing just 740 g (weight for size 43).

The Härkila Forest Hunter GTX Mid uses a waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX MS Advanced membrane to keep feet dry even in heavy rain or marching through snow. It is worth noting that recycled raw materials are used in the production of the GORE-TEX MS Advanced membrane. The Gore-Tex membrane performs two functions: it protects the boots from getting wet and is responsible for wicking moisture released by the body to the outside.
