The Umarex RaceGun Set 4.5mm is an advanced CO2 air rifle with a blow-back system, modeled on the sports pistols used in IPSC competition.
TheUmarex RaceGun is a state-of-the-art air rifle that lets you get into the role of a dynamic shooter thanks to its design and the included accessories.
The gun has a solid metal construction weighing close to 1,070 grams, which makes the windgun very stable and noticeable in the hand, and its weight compensates well for the recoil energy. Only the facings were made of polymer, with an aesthetically pleasing, non-slip texture that increases grip.
The gun is powered by a 12g CO2 capsule, mounted in a magazine with a capacity of 22 BB's shot. The compressed carbon dioxide blasts the steel BB's shot at a speed of about 125 m/s and ensures the operation of the blow-back system. When the shot is fired, some of the energy of the expanded gas throws the lock back, which the shooter feels as a strong recoil. The blow-back significantly increases the fun factor, the realism of handling and provides the sensation of shooting a firearm.
After the last shot is fired from the magazine, the lock is left in the rear position and requires manual release, identical to the original. One brand-name capsule is sufficient to fire about 60 shots with an even initial velocity, which, given the recoil of the lock, is a good performance parameter.
The design of the airgun uses a number of solutions known from guns designed for dynamic shooting mi.m:
- a compensator that reduces underthrow and recoil
- fiber optic bow tie (removable)
- lightweight skeletonized trigger tongue and cocking mechanism
- enlarged double-sided safety
- enlarged magazine release on both sides
- extended beavertail- improving pistol grip
- handle with integrated funnel for faster magazine change
- "slide racker" lever tightened to the breech for faster reloading.
Also included with the pistol is a Walther Competition II collimator sight and a rail for mounting it. The collimator significantly reduces aiming time, allows quick movement between multiple targets, and allows shooting in unfavorable lighting conditions. The Walther Competition II sight has two levels of spot brightness (low and high), and is powered by a CR2032 watch battery.
The shooter can also make use of interchangeable flies and slits, i.e. fiber optic and standard. There is also an integrated Picatinny rail on the frame, allowing the attachment of selected shooting accessories such as a laser target marker or flashlight.
