Manufactured by Turkish arms manufacturer Hatsan, the windcheaters have been popular among Polish sport shooters for years thanks to the capabilities they provide within their price range. The Optima by Hatsan brand offers the same excellent cost/quality ratio, which is a direct result of the solutions used in the manufacturing process. The manufacturer's tremendous capabilities allow it to manufacture every part in a single factory, so the windguns are made from scratch under the watchful eye of Hatsan specialists.
The classic bed
Thebeech wood stock has a simple English style and a matte finish. A fine checkering has been cut on the pistol grip and the middle part of the bed, which improves the carbine's grip and gives it an aesthetic look. The flask has a symmetrical Monte Carlo stock that allows right- and left-handed shooters to fold comfortably. Due to its light weight (2900 g), the carbine can also be shot by women and younger users. The recoil energy is effectively reduced by a ventilated rubber foot, which is also responsible for a stable point of support.
Convenient loading
Thespring is tensioned by the classic "barrel break", a method most often used in spring-loaded windcheaters due to its convenient and simple operation. The spring of the windgun is made of hardened steel with high fatigue strength, which guarantees its durability and performance even after several thousand shots. The spring has a safety feature that protects it from uncontrolled release during tensioning. The Optima by Hatsan 1000X Striker carbineshoots 5.5mm diabolo shot loaded directly into the barrel.
Precision and long range
A threaded barrel with a length of 420 mm is responsible for the accuracy and repeatability of the shots, thanks to which we can achieve a repeatable focus already after a short training. The fired shotgun reaches a high initial velocity of up to 240 m/s (~16 J), so we can also shoot accurately from the carbine at longer distances. A polymer dummy suppressor is attached to the end of the barrel, which acts as a base for the musket and facilitates breaking the barrel.
Safe use
In shooting, the most important thing is safety, so when the spring is pulled ("breaking the barrel"), the safety is automatically activated, which prevents the firing of an uncontrolled shot. Before firing, you should always turn off the safety, which is conveniently located at the rear of the piston chamber. This affects the exceptionally easy decocking of the carbine, which can be done even without disturbing the aiming process.
Modern sighting instruments
The carbine has been equipped with fiber-optic sighting instruments, i.e. a tunnel-type bow-tie and a vertically and horizontally adjustable stock. The fiber-optic rods with contrasting (green-red) colors, significantly speed up the alignment of the bow tie and the pincer, and due to their high light absorption, also allow shooting in low or residual light, for example, after dark. If you want to try your hand at shooting at a longer distance, you can also mount the optical sight of your choice on the 11mm rail (with a stopwatch).
