TheGlock FM 81 is a large military knife with a fixed head, which, thanks to its durability and functionality, will come down perfectly in survival and hiking applications.
The FM81 is an improved version of the FM78 knife, enhanced with an additional serrated blade on the comb of the blade.
Military knife with wood saw
The knife has a hidden-tang design that combines strength, lightness and comfort. The narrow clip-point profile blade was created from spring steel hardened to about 55 HRC. The weaker retention (ability to stay sharp) is perfectly compensated by the ease of sharpening, so we can sharpen the blade in the field with an ordinary pocket sharpener. A phosphate coating was applied to the entire surface of the blade, which protects against corrosion and prevents reflection. On the upper part of the blade there is a false blade for increased penetration and a saw blade with alternating teeth, which can perfectly handle cutting wood, bone, rope, and plastic.
Polymer handle with double-sided hilt
The handle is made of the same polymer used by the Austrian company to manufacture the skeletons of Glock combat pistols. This plastic absorbs shocks well and is non-slip, which, combined with the contoured shape of the handle, provides a comfortable and secure grip. There is a hole in the back of the handle that allows you to weave in a safety line. The knife uses a forged steel hilt on both sides, which protects the hand from slipping on the blade. In addition, the curved part of the hilt can be used as a bottle opener or a ramp for the thumb when planing.
Polymer sheath with locking mechanism
To carry the knife, there is a simple polymer sheath with a versatile mounting system that allows the knife to be attached to a belt (using a belt loop), at a vest, and on a mount. A simple spring-loaded safety locks the knife when inserted into the scabbard and allows for quick retrieval. The locking mechanism is located in such a place that when the handle is grasped, the safety is automatically deactivated. One of the biggest advantages of the sheath, is the ability to slide the blade in both directions, which increases convenience for right- and left-handed people. Additional functionality of the sheath is provided by a rope hole and a drainage hole for draining water.
