TheUmarex CPS is a budget wind pistol that shoots mushroom-shaped diabolo pellets and features good accuracy and repeatable shots.
Construction and design features
Thedesign of the Umarex CPS air rifle is based on the popular Walther CP-99 model, the main difference being the lack of a decocker (trigger self-release lever) and a construction made mainly of durable polymer.
The pistol has an enlarged breech, a frame with an accessory rail, an adjustable safety, a magazine latch lever on both sides and a magazine that slides out of the grip to accommodate aCO2 capsule.
The pistol's grip has contoured finger cutouts and fine non-slip texturing identical to the texture of firearm linings.
The above-mentioned solutions make the airgun fit very well and comfortably in almost any hand. The Umarex CPS has classic fixed-set sighting instruments, recommended for precision shooting and learning to shoot.
Automatic reloading
The air rifle is powered by a 12gCO2 capsule, mounted in a metal magazine. The compressed carbon dioxide gives the fired diabolo shots a velocity of up to 110 m/s and allows accurate shooting at distances of up to 20 m.
A good qualityCO2 cartridge allows you to fire about 60 aligned shots. The number of shots also depends on the air temperature, shooting dynamics and proper maintenance of the airgun. It is also important to remember that aCO2 capsule (punctured) can be left in the windgun for a maximum of 48 hours.
After this time, the capsule must be removed or "fired". Installation and replacement of the capsule are very simple, requiring only inserting the capsule into the magazine and tightening it with the pressure screw.
Thanks to the double-sided latch lever, ejecting the magazine that holds the capsule is very easy and convenient for right- and left-handed users.
Precision of shooting
Thanks to the use of a threaded barrel, the pistol has been adapted for shooting classic 4.5mm diabolo shot, which makes the airgun great for precision target shooting. The shot is loaded into a rotating 8-shot magazine placed in the gun's lock.
For shooting, we recommend using flat or half-round diabolo shot.
DAO trigger mechanism
The windcheater uses a DAO (double action only) trigger mechanism , which allows shooting using self-trigger only. When carrying or storing, the trigger mechanism can be locked by means of an external fuse located on the right side of the frame.
The advantage of this solution is, above all, the simple and instinctive operation, which makes the Umarex CPS air rifle great for those starting their adventure with air shooting.
