Frequently Asked Questions
1️⃣ Which knife sharpener?
It all depends on the type of knife and where the sharpener is used. If we want to regularly and accurately sharpen a variety of models in our home, a sharpening system is the ideal choice. For quick sharpening in the field, compact sharpeners such as the Work Sharp Guided Sharpener will be perfect. For kitchen knives, on the other hand, drag sharpeners are best for budget models and sharpening stones if you use high-quality knives.
2️⃣ What kind of sharpener for kitchen knives?
It all depends on the knives we use. If you use ordinary steel models such as X50CrMoV for quick sharpening, a simple drag sharpener will suffice. On the other hand, if you have high-end knives and want to guarantee perfect edge precision, it's worth spending some time learning how to work with sharpening stones.
3️⃣ How to sharpen a knife with a diamond sharpener?
Sharpening with a diamond sharpener is essentially no different from sharpening on a ceramic stone. Using a diamond sharpener, however, we should remember that the diamond collects "material" faster and more aggressively, so the knife should not be pressed hard. Too much pressure also causes the diamond coating to wear off more quickly. To avoid clogging the pores of the diamond plate, remember to wash the surface after sharpening.
